prepare yourself. here comes the deluge of Christmas songs that you may or may not get sick of by the time Christmas actually arrives. but since we're not sick of them just yet, HAVE A LISTEN and indulge in a cup of something hot and yummy while you're at it. (& woow, I just used the word "Christmas" way too many times in two paragraphs. I sincerely apologize.)
[Bing Crosby-It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas] ahh. the good oldies nobody can beat.
[Michael Buble-Let It Snow] season doesn't start without some Michael Buble.
[Ferrante and Teicher and Les Baxter-Sleigh Ride/Santa Claus' Party] this song without fail is ALWAYS playing at the mall during Christmas time. (coughMacy'scough) in fact, I love how the second top comment reads "if I hear the second half of this song one more... I am going to go insane. They play it every day at work." poor fellow.
[Hillsong-Born Is The King] remembering the reason for Christmas. love this song. video linked below.
[Dean Martin and Martina McBride-Baby, It's Cold Outside] one of the best versions of this song out there aand one of my favorite Christmas tunes.
[Relient K-I Hate Christmas Parties] Let It Snow Baby, Let It Reindeer. classy album. putting the line "bah, humbug" into this song? asdlkfjasldfjasd. I know this isn't technically a "Christmas" song, but still, it's a I'm-trying-to-get-over-my-ex-during-Christmas-song, which technically still makes it a Christmas-y song. it actually reminds me of the next one...
[Coldplay-Christmas Lights] another I'm-trying-to-get-over-my-ex-during-Christmas song! man, these songs are the best.
[Owl City-The Christmas Song] I don't have anyone at home to talk to/And you don't have anything to do/so I'll spend my Christmas with you.
[ThePianoGuys-O Come, Emmanuel] amazing, amazing piano/cello cover. I know I sound like a broken record for saying this but their covers are absolutely gorgeous. not to mention, the locations are stellar... haven't been disappointed yet. (video linked below!)
[The Almost-The Drummer Boy] FAVORITE RENDITION EVER. close second would be Jae Jin & Tim Be Told's version.
[Pentatonix-Carol of the Bells] amazing acapella group. if you have earbuds, everything just sounds so much better. intensified bass. OH YEAH.
[Wreck-It Ralph soundtrack (remix)] saaay whaaaa?! this ain't Christmas music! I told you I was throwing in some non-Christmas-y songs hehe. I watched "Wreck-It Ralph" with my bff, L, over T-giving break and o. mi. word. had to hold back those tears... multiple times. (yes, I am a big crybaby when it comes to movies but in my defense, some of those scenes just tugged right at the heartstrings.)
[The Lumineers-Hey Ho (Tyler Ward and Alex G cover)]
[The Girl Who Leapt Through Time soundtrack] another movie soundtrack! I didn't cry for this movie even though it was probably ten times sadder than Wreck-It Ralph. don't care if you're not into animes, this is a must see movie. on a side note, the bro and I thought that the English dubbed version sounded an awful lot like an Adventures in Odyssey episode...
[Taylor Swift-Begin Again] I'm surprised. no, actually, I'm shocked (but not appalled) at how many songs I actually enjoy off of Swift's album, "Red."
so. I have sorta big news. actually it's not really big news, but I've reached a teensy, tiny milestone in the vast universe of blogging. <holds breath> can I get a hug for my hundredth post, please? yes sirree, this post, as anticlimactic as it is, is number 1-0-0. I guess it's only a big deal to me because I have this horrific tendency of never completing things that I start. I suppose that will be for another day, however. see you lovelies next week. stay warm, study hard, & please kick some serious butt for those finals! xo
