Birds, Bears and Balloons

this morning, i woke up all groggy, as my mum came in and proceeded to take my 2011 calendar from the wall and trash it, murmuring something about how behind i was... er oops. she then said something along the lines of somebody at church handing her a calendar yesterday and telling her to pass it to me. as my mother walked out the door she added: hun ke ai (very cute).


or maybe she was saying the person who gave it to me was very cute. needless to say, i hopped outta bed and found this epicness awaiting me:

absolutely adorable.

most people don't really use actual calendars anymore. not unless you're like a soccer mom or something. haha i jest, that was random. but seriously, technology these days provides a million other ways to plan out your schedule, leaving calendars to be merely wall decor. being an old fashioned squirt, i still love planning out my things on a wall calendar. it started way back one year when my friend was selling chick-fil-a calendars. initially i bought one to help her raise money, but it turns out i planned out all sorts of things on that spiffy calendar. every year after that, i've had a calendar to keep handy. this year, i hadn't really thought too much. then a sweet, little girl (you know who you are ;) at church told me she was gonna get me an angry birds calendar. i didn't think too much of it, but lo and behold, she kept to her word like a true ten year old and now i have a cute calendar to keep track of everything. how ke ai, indeed. thanks so much, my dear! <3

while we're on the topic of presents, i just thought i'd show you guys a little something i got for Christmas. i know i know, Christmas is SOO last year, but bear (no pun intended, as you shall soon see!) with me. this present was too amazing too pass up.

a mug?! and not just any ordinary mug. nope! nooo sirr, the designs were created and hand drawn by my biffle. isn't she so talented? i could see this in a store. the funny thing about it all is that i also made a cup for her Christmas gift. yeah i know, what are the odds?! we think so alike it's probably not even funny. haha actually it's hilarious. we both had different insiders on our stuff so it worked out great. i'm not going post the picture of the mug i gave her as it was nothing compared to the one i got.  just loook!

a bit of the balloon came off in the wash. pooeys. gotta be careful cleaning it.
