Octoberness In Pictures [pt.2]

when it gets cold, i like to have a cup of something hot. something like a nice, big mug of earl grey, topped with a slice of fresh lemon and a sprinkling of sugar. makes for a perfect drink while studying. try it sometime. you won't regret it.

you may remember me mentioning in a previous post about a familiar face from good ol' SC. well, if you hadn't figured it out or heard from certain person (coughefancough) by now, it was Dr. Chuck! he stayed for a night--getting in saturday evening (dad drove to philly to pick him up) and leaving late sunday afternoon. in between he preached a sermon and held a workshop right afterwards.

while he was here, dad took him to go see the NY skyline and of course, i tagged along. it was gorgeous. and we snagged an awesome parking space, which is usually impossible to find in the area.

woke up one morning to a gorgeous sky. sun was starting to come up. still half asleep, i snatched twilly off my desk and snapped away at a few pics. the results turned out a little like this...

last sunday, our church celebrated our tenth anniversary. it was nice to see that the church had grown some since then. i say grown as in spiritually and not so much physically, it has shrinked a little bit, but God is gracious. according to dad, there has at least been 1-2 newcomers every single week and last sunday was no exception. in a surprise turnout, we had a total of 92 in the house with about a whopping 65-70% being newcomers. since it was the tenth anniversary and we were bound to have some sort of cake-cutting ceremony, i reminded myself to bring twilly. in a rush to get out the door early to decorate the church, i forgot...thank goodness, a guy at church had his dslr handy. he asked me to take pics for him and told me to have fun with it. it was awesome. he owned a beastly nikon d700 or was it d7000 (i think i'll go with the d700) and had attached on it a set of killer lens (idr the specifics).

needless to say i practically drooled over it and got an awesome neck workout (seriously those things can give you some nice toned arms, not to mention a muscled neck. uh ew.) here are a few i took...

recognize this baby doll?
the next shot is pure awesomeness if i do say so myself. (also taken on the d700). i mean c'mon, just look at dad. that's like almost the epitome of pure joy. in fact, he almost looks like he's crying. don't worry he's just reaally happy. btdubs, the man next to my dad is the pastor of rutgers christian community church (rccc). and rccc is the mother church of jccc (the church my dad pastors). :)

this last picture is pretty much our whole church. composed mainly of the senior citizens group, i'd say. hehe. some aren't actually regular comers and we do have some regular comers missing...oh well. :)

ahh, it's midterm week and i've got to go hit the books now. hope you enjoyed this wittle post. :)
