Words of Wisdom: Making Cheesy Brownies

"every brownie needs cheese in their life" says the jiaster, as we stand in my kitchen, dumping brownie mix and what-was-supposed-to-be cream cheese in a muffin pan.

i laugh and suggest in a joking manner, "words of wisdom?"

she nods her head in a convincing manner and replies in the most serious tone a ten year old can muster, "yeah! of course!"

i love this girl so stinkin' much

told ya i hadn't abandoned my food-related posts. this shall sate you for the time being, yes? well, it better. though i will add, i already have eyes on my next food project. but that shall remain hush hush for now as this post is about making my cheesy brownies...from scratch. :) the jiaster asked last thursday if she could come over so we could make brownies. how could i say no to one of the most presh kids on earth? obviously, i couldn't, so i took this as an opportunity to try making the cheesecake brownies (or brownie cheesecakes) i had made last time, but this time from scratch. while jiaster poured, mixed and measured, the lazy bum (aka me), snapped pictures. hehe. in my defense, her hands are more picture worthy than mine.

being in a hurry, i grabbed what i thought was cream cheese. but...as you can see in the lower righthand corner that is NOT cream cheese. oops. anywho, i used the whole thing, beat in one egg and set it aside while i made the brownies...

take  3/4 cup of cocoa....

...one cup of melted butter and mix with 2 cups sugar....

 beat in four eggs...

 scrape, scrape, scrape...

dump one cup + two tbsp flour, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp baking soda, one tbsp vanilla extract and mix very well...

"it looks like a poo mixed with pee", jiaster said a little too happily.

...honestly...it should look like dog poo when you're done.

hey ma! look at what i'm eating!

stickin' em in some muffin pans and bake 350 for 15-17 minutes....

...VOILA! all donee.
