Blurb Edition || Updates from an Idiosyncratic Child

good morning, afternoon, and evening lovelies. cloudy afternoons call for obnoxious updates.

senior year is going along splendidly. I say this in a half convincing, half sarcastic tone. there's a hodge-podge of midterms to study for, brains to storm, projects to complete, lectures to listen, classes to attend, notes to review, quizzes to take, and hair to pull out. busyness is good. it keeps me from boredom, which I utterly detest. unmanageable busyness, however, crushes the spirit. what spirit, you ask? oh you know, that feeling when you think you can conquer the world (or rather, the mile long pile of books waiting to be read and half typed papers waiting on Microsoft Word.) I'm getting through this.

buuut enough of that.. my apologies for talking about the same trivial schtuff over and over again.

did I mention my gran is staying with our family right now? she's such a sweet, old lady! it kinda makes me sad I don't talk to her as much as I like and should because our topics usually revolve around the question of whether or not I've eaten, exercised, finished my work, or taken a shower yet (in no particular order.) not to mention, her main dialect is Taiwanese, which I only know a few phrases in. every time she addresses me, a barrage of familiar gibberish falls and lands right at my feet. it only makes me realize how hard it is to close the gap between our generations. still, there are no complaint here; I have been enjoying her company immensely.

unfortunately, we haven't been able to take her to many places because she happened to come at a darn busy time for the family. for the most part, she keeps herself occupied, but to make it up to her, we took her on a scenic drive near the state line on Sunday. definitely a long-awaited breath of fresh air for everyone.

in other news, I'm boarding a plane. again. plane count at seven so far for this year! I'm not usually enthusiastic about being cooped up in a flying metal box for a couple of hours, but if the end result is worth it, I get all giddy about everything (including the dreaded airplane food. ew.) after much persistence on my brother's part, I'm headed west to pay him a dear visit! I swear he just wants me to go because he's convinced my social life has ceased to exist. I mean, what is a social life? is it edible?

JOKING.

sheesh guys.

I'm sure it'll be fun. the only thing I'm bummed about is that this whole trip takes place the week before my midterms. have faith, I'm getting everything done before I board that plane! my productivity level this week has been incredibly and shockingly high. so high in fact, that my procrastinating inner being finds it repulsive. hence, this week is cray cray.

I need a hug.

welllllp, that about wraps everything.

hope you all have a swell weekend. xo.
