the past three days have felt like a long overdue extended weekend. overdue, because it certainly feels like forever since the school year started. extended, because my brother came home saturday and everyday has felt like an extra day added to the weekend since. i love it.
haven't really been up to a lot lately, just bumming around at home in my pjs like a bawwwss. been doing some homework that's due week after thanksgiving, because i can and i'm just cool like that. haha nawt. school aside, i've been catching up on tv shows and watching random movies with the bro. the night he got back, we stayed up til two watching "get smart". not gonna lie, the movie was pretty hilarious (then again, everything at two in the morning is hilarious to me). been watching some pacific, which isn't too bad, and lots of lots of full metal alchemist, as well. yes, full metal alchemist (brotherhood)! another show to add to my list of tv shows. it's pretty good so far. confession: third episode in, i cried...don't believe me? you can ask my bro. what's weird is, I NEVER CRY FOR STUFF LIKE THIS! at least not that i remember. that being said, it's a good show, go watch it. it's thanksgiving break, you don't have an excuse. if i could describe the show in less than five words, i'd say, well, i don't know what i'd say actually. it just so happens, i stink at summing things up in less than five words so here's my conclusion in well a bajillion words. don't worry, there's no spoilers. :)
full metal alchemist is a japanese anime that follows two brothers on their journey to find something called the philosopher's stone. in their world, there are these people called alchemists ( think scientists+benders but not). they have the ability to use elements to help them (almost like earth-bending). the one rule of alchemy is the law of equation, where in order to take something, you must give something. however, the philosopher's stone is the only thing that doesn't require this rule. the one forbidden act of alchemy is human transmutation, which is creating human life via alchemy. the two brothers, edward and alfonse, lose their mother to an illness, so they break the law and try to perform human transmutation. long story short, they fail and edward (the older brother, who is a state alchemist), loses one of his arms in the process. alfonse almost dies, but edward sacrifices his leg for his soul to be bound to a suit of armor (in another words, alfonse is a robot with a soul). the story picks up with them, slightly older, seeking for the philosopher's stone so they can achieve their bodies back to their normal state.
so yeah, that's what i've been watching for the past three, four days. still need to find space for a little nikita, chuck maybe, castle and walking dead! if you didn't figure out by now, yes, i have a fascination with zombie flicks (zombieland, anyone? pouty guys and twinkies? c'mon) and maybe games (dead island? kinda want to play it, but we'll see) and war movies. yeah they don't really go all that hand in hand together, but if you really want to put it that way, since when did zombies+wittle me EVER go hand in hand together? ;)
anyways, wanted to take this post and wish you all a lovely thanksgiving! hope you guys are pumped for the good food and fellowship with your family/friends/whoever you're spending thanksgiving with. i'm pretty pumped... got twenty people (and counting) on the guest list, a twenty-pound turkey thawing in the fridge, pumpkin pie ingredients on the kitchen countertop and still need to buy some materials for my turkey cutout. mum actually requested me to make one this year! backstory: couple years ago, i, on a whim, decided to make a turkey cutout from cardstock, complete with faux feathers and knife/fork. i hung it up on the wall for our guests to admire. ever since then, i've made a turkey cutout whenever we had guests over for thanksgiving. i forgot all about it this year until mum mentioned it today. i guess she did like the little guy after all...hehe. i'll attach some pictures if i remember to next post. okey dokes, thanks for hangin'. have a good thanksgiving! piece(s) of advice: give your loved ones a big hug and tell them how much they mean to you, count your blessings, crank the music up, sing loudly and off-key, eat until you can't, dance lots (but not right after you eat), laugh til it hurts & share the love. xoxo
